OXWICH

Oxwich Bay (Bae Oxwich) is 2.5 mile long and features sand dunes, salt marshes and woodland.  The beach is a short walk from the chalet and is a popular spot for swimming and watersports, paddling or just contemplating the view.  The bay ends to the east with the limestone mass of of Great Tor and at low tide it is possible to access nearby Three Cliffs Bay. To the west are The Owxich Bay Hotel, a popular wedding venue and the acclaimed Beach House restaurant.   Rising through Oxwich Woods and up onto Oxwich Point, the Welsh Coastal Path leads onto the villages of Slade, Horton and Port Eynon. On 1st February 2007, The Travel Magazine named Oxwich Beach the most beautiful in Britain.

Reviews of Oxwich Area

“Beautiful area and not many people about. We virtually had the beach to ourselves! Walked for miles and have never seen so many jellyfish. Nice little cafe where we parked and had a well earned cuppa and cake before we left.”

“An enormous sweeping sand bay, with wooded cliffs at each end and dunes and marshes behind. Nature at its best. Wonderful space, great for kids and with enough facilities to get by.”

“If you have never been to the Gower peninsula, you have missed something. Oxwich bay is just one of the many beautiful bays. The Gower was voted the first area of outstanding natural beauty in the UK!”
